October 21, 2009 6:11 pm AutosIt all started on January of 2006 when still named accelerated Composites now Aptera Motors made a press release about a car design that can go 330 mpg at 65 mph. From then on they moved forward to become the leading candidate for the Progressive Insurance Automotive X Prize alternate class. They further announced and showed the work of the company by presenting the prospect MK-0 technology demonstrator which they unveiled at the TED Conference of 2007. The only major drawback the company is encountering is when they were denied loans by the Federal government just this 2009 because of the fall in the economy. This happened last March 11, 2009.
