What’s your take on offshore drilling?  I’m 100% opposed to it.  I just don’t see any point.  You don’t lift the ban and then magically more oil starts flowing.  First you’ve got to identify just where the heck the oil is in the first place.  Then you’ve got to drill exploratory wells.  Then you’ve got to put up outrageously expensive rigs that take time to build.  Only then does the oil start flowing.  How long does that take?  About seven years.  What good does lifting this ban do when we have a problem right now, not seven years from now.  Of course, that assumes there’s a whole bunch of oil just off our shores.  There’s some to be sure, but not even enough to run America’s vehicles for even two months.
