Celebration of Veterans Day

5:11 pm Business

November 11 is the day that most nations celebrate Veterans‘ Day. Other countries like the United Kingdom call this day Armistice Day or Remembrance Day, denoting the end of World War I. In America, Veteran’s Day is considered both a national and a state holiday. It was proclaimed and signed into law by former President, Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1954 to commemorate and give recognition to the military veterans who served and sacrificed for the country.

Individuals have their own ways of commemorating this special day for the military personnel. Every state holds different public affairs in remembering the soldiers like parades, providing recognition and awards.
