Is Credit Crunch Near End?

11:32 pm Business

Gordon Brown insists Britain is finally coming out of the recession. The Prime Minister gives his most upbeat forecast yet as he tries to win the support of unions for public spending cuts. The credit crunch for many of us in the UK is still biting hard in a number of sectors, however. It looks like this upbeat talk is to try to get the unions to agree to a pay freeze on public-sector workers. The country has a massive debt right now of £1 trillion, and it has to come down eventually. I can not see the unions agreeing to anything which will see their workers’ standard of living fall.
