Low Iron Glass for Solar Use

Another name for low iron glass when used for solar panels is photovoltaic glass. The light transmittance rate makes it ideal for solar cell use. It is good because it changes the light to produce electricity, or heat. The transmittance rate is 91 percent while regular glass only has an 83percent transmittance rate. The quality of light coming through is as true as it can get, free of distortions and imperfections. The clarity is nearly perfect, letting true colors show through. The technology continues to improve as scientists develop glass with reduced iron content.
