What is an SSL certificate?

There are many reasons you would want to make your visitors and users of the site away or that your site is secure. You can obtain one of these certificates using a godaddy promo code and applying it at checkout.
As an example when someone is registering with you they are entering their name or e-mail and possibly some additional information when that happens they may be worried about whether or not typing that information into your site is secure. You can show them it secure by using the secure certificate. They know it is secure or by a couple reasons. When they look at the website address they will see not HTTP but HTTPS and the acid stands for secure. Now most people will not look at that so there are other things you can do. One is to use the lock. It is a picture of a lock that is closed. This shows people that your site is secure. Now your visitors will also want this security if they are purchasing something from you particularly if they are entering financial information.
Obtaining a basic certificate can be very reasonable typically only about $30 a year but it makes your customers and your visitors feel much more secure and everyone uses it when it comes to checking out or purchasing something from you.
