Nail fungal infection is onychomycosis in scientific term. They are micro-predators from the bacterium called dermatophyte, mother of other skin disorders such as athlete’s foot, jock itch, and ringworm.

The infection certainly looks as bad as the name sounds. Once your toe nails are penetrated, they gradually form ugly cracks on the outer layers and white, yellow or black discoloration. It’s accompanied by swelling, redness, and itchiness surrounding the affected area. In the course, the nails, which once served as protective wall to the fungus, detach from the nail bed and it would take months of toe nail fungus treatment for a new one to cultivate if not properly managed.
