A Retired Auto Worker Dies From Alcohol Poisoning
October 3, 2008 4:24 am HealthDominick was a retired auto worker who worked for General Motors for forty years. His entire adult life, he drank quite a bit with his buddies. Fortunately for him, drinking never resulted in any serious health, financial, legal, or relationship problems. One night, Dominick stopped in the local bar for a few drinks. After his second drink he collapsed at the bar and fell to the floor. Someone alertly called 911 and within minutes the rescue squad arrived and rushed him to the local hospital that was only about 2 miles away. A few hours after he was taken to the hospital someone called the bar to let everyone know that Dominick died from alcohol poisoning. The people at the bar were in shock because Dominick only had one or two drinks. This story points to the fact that alcohol poisoning does not necessarily take place because of excessive drinking at one sitting. Indeed, alcohol Poisoning can also take place when an individual has engaged in excessive drinking over a period of years.
