Every major cosmetics company relases special collections from time to time. Clinique, MAC and Lancome all do this every now and then. If you’re not sure what I’m talking about, here is a list of all the MAC Cosmetics Limited Edition Collections released in 2009 so you’ll have some examples.

I have a love hate relationship with these limited time releases. I love them because I get so excited in the anticipation of new products from my favorite cosmetics lines. But, I hate them because that means I’m going to be spending more money. It also means that if I happen to love a limited edition product, I’m going to be out of luck down the road because I’ll have no way to find the discontinued product again.

So, I ask myself, is it better to love a shade, only to have to let go at some point? I haven’t quite figured that out yet.
