We had just put in a wooden deck addition to our back porch. The deck wrapped around the side of the house. I placed Solar Outdoor Lighting on top of the whole thing. They were copper lanterns that came with poles and stakes to stick in the ground. I took off the stakes & poles and just used the lantern part. I drilled some 1 inch holes in the top of the railing and wedged the lanterns in the hole. They all had little solar panels on top and some LED lights inside. They came on at dusk and shut off in the morning.
