Black Widow The Most Venomous Spider
July 21, 2009 9:09 am MiscellaneousI did some research about the black widow spiders and I found out that this species is the most venomous one in North America. But despite this fact there is a lower mortality rate of 1% from the human population caused by a black widow spider bite. The female species can control the amount of venom to be injected to its prey. A small dose is usually injected that rarely cause death in humans. But its venom is usually toxic to the male species after mating that causes their death. This is some form of mating ritual among black widows that the female usually kills the male species after mating.
