My ancestors came from Ireland. The family doesn’t have may ties to the old country, except for a couple of second cousins who my mom still has contact with. That connection had never been that important to me, but it was always important to my mom. So as she started to get older, I realized that her memories were aging with her, including my thin connections with Ireland. Rather than let those memories fade with her, I decided to take advantage of the easy photo sharing sites on the Internet. I collected my mom’s photo albums with dozens of photos contained in them and scanned them in to my PC. Then, I created new digital photo albums and sent them to my mom and our Irish relatives. Everyone wa so excited. And now, partly due to easy photo sharing, I’ve set up a trip to Ireland to see my cousins!
