I had this plan to be sure I don’t get caught out with having lost email addresses when I switch to a new broadband supplier. I’m not going to use the free email address I get from a broadband company in future. Instead, I’ve got a domain name from GoDaddy, bought using a GoDaddy coupon to save a bunch of dollars, and I’m going to host it on a server so that I can have my own domain email addresses. The advantage with that is that I can move the domain around wherever I want and it’s completely independent of my home broadband, so no matter who I end up connecting to the internet with, my email addresses remain the same. I’m sure all my friends and family will be happy with that.
