March 5, 2009 8:58 am MiscellaneousWhen our neighbors husband died she started to become more and more of a recluse. We tried to include her in the neighborhood activities but she preferred to keep to herself at home. Instead of people for friends, she started adopting cats. In not time at all her home was filled with them. We would not have minded so much except that sanitation became a problem and when the wind was from the right direction we could not leave our windows open. We called Oakland Animal Control and when they came out they discovered nearly a hundred cats living in her home.
