The dilemma about whether to use an aluminum bat or a wooden bat has been going on since colleges in the mid 1970′s decided that aluminum was stronger and they could help their budget situation by making their teams use them. However, many players are still purists. When baseball came into existence in the 1850′s, wood was the only material available. Teams experimented with all different shapes, until everyone realized that the barrel shape was the most effective. Today some want to return to the wooden bat, saying it’s always been the test of a great hitter. However, the excitement of batting with Easton SCN2 fast response still sways many opinions.
