Dell closing factories in the US
September 11, 2008 7:11 pm TechnologyDell is planning a major overhaul in the way it does business. Known for their process that used Dell’s own factories in the United States to produce computers once the customer ordered it they are now planning to sell off these factories in the and move the operation overseas. HDMI Cables says Dell is hoping on selling their factories in the next 18 months. Manufacturing duties will be given to contractors overseas most likely in Asia. Their “two touch” process that helped cut inventory cost and increase profits just isn’t competitive anymore as their competitors like Apple and HP have moved production of their computers overseas.
