If you have never been to Times Square for New Years’ Eve you are missing out on a great time. The air is electric and the crowds are stunning. I could have just people watched all night. Get a reservation several months ahead. There won’t be any cheap hotels in New York City left on December 31st. Taxis won’t be moving fast with all the traffic so become well versed with the subway system and get yourself some tokens ahead of time. If your outfit calls for dressy shoes (and hopefully it will) you should pack them in a bag and wear sneakers. Carry small bills in your pockets and large in a hidden spot and be sure your ID is on you, too. Most important, bring your party hat and have a great time!
