Hurricanes open the door for new jobs
October 16, 2008 4:16 am TravelMany people were looking for dump truck driving jobs during the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Both hurricanes left significant damage along the Golf Coast, including New Orleans, Mississippi and part s of Alabama. Once the storm left, people were left to clean up the ravished mess. Mud, debris and all sorts of trash was left scattered by demolished houses and businesses and receding flood waters. Trucking companies were deluged with applicants looking for a chance to earn extra money to clean up the mess. Probably more people applied than were hired, but perhaps they were used in other areas.
