Will Motorhome Sales Rebound in 2009?
January 8, 2009 7:13 am TravelMany are predicting it will be a difficult year for motorhome sales. Some are even predicting the market will not return until 2010. I know most RV salespeople are really hurting right now. Many RV dealers are going under and I expect to see many more motorhome companies go out of business in 2009. It is a good time to buy a motorhome now. Most RV dealers are discounting their prices by 40% or more.
Motorhome Prices are fallingI saw a RV website that was selling motorhomes for 60% off of MSRP, is that true? Don’t believe everything you read online. The average retail mark-up is around 35% to 45%. For a dealer to discount their motorhomes by 60% would mean they are marking up their motorhomes by another 25% on average. Most RV buyers would see this on the sticker price and laugh.
